James Plant Director
James P is the founder of GTA Accounting, and the reason it became more than just another accountancy firm. From the very beginning, he set out to do things differently. For him, accounting was never just about numbers. It was about people. About building trust, solving real problems, and giving clients the clarity they need to move forward. Those values still run through the firm today. Clients don’t just stay with GTA because the numbers add up; they stay because James P made sure trust, integrity, and client care always come first.
James Goulsbra FCCA Managing Director
His story began far from finance, coaching sports until injury forced a new direction. Retraining as an accountant, he came under the mentorship of James P, who shaped his foundation in values and integrity. From there, James G set about bringing the firm into a new era – one defined by technology, creativity, and strategy. Today, he’s at the forefront of AI in the accounting industry, working to build tools that will transform the industry. What sets James apart is the way he approaches GTA’s clients’ ambition: not with limits, but with imagination. He has a rare ability to take someone’s big vision, strip away the “can’t be done,” and rebuild it into a plan that works. And because he pairs that mindset with the expertise of an accountant, those plans don’t just inspire – they hold up. By using complex tax law to our clients’ advantage and combining it with bold growth strategies, James bridges the gap between ambition and achievement.
Becky Hargreaves FMAAT Client Manager
Becky brings both expertise and warmth to her role as Client Manager. With her FMAAT qualification and years of experience, she helps clients make sense of their finances and feel confident about the road ahead. Outside of work, Becky’s creativity really shines – whether she’s baking, crafting, or off on one of her alpaca walks. She also has a soft spot for Italy, and never misses the chance to explore its culture and cuisine. That mix of professionalism and personality makes Becky someone clients trust not only for the details, but for the bigger picture too.
Sara Allan MAAT Client Manager
Sara has a gift for making people feel at ease. As a Client Manager, she combines technical expertise with a natural sense of humour that brings ease and confidence to those around her. It’s that mix of skill and personality that makes clients trust her and colleagues look up to her. Outside of work, Sara loves heading out on hikes, finding balance and a fresh perspective in the outdoors. That same grounded energy, paired with her sharp mind and quick wit, makes her not only respected for what she does but valued for who she is.
Stuart Smith Accountant
Stuart joined GTA in February 2024, starting as a trainee with endless curiosity and drive. From the beginning, it was clear this was more than just a job to him, it was the start of something bigger. In true Stuart fashion, he set himself an extraordinary goal: to complete Levels 2, 3 and 4 of AAT in just 18 months (a journey most people take nearly three years to finish!) That determination reflects what defines him: perseverance, humility, and a work ethic that raises the bar for everyone around him. What makes Stuart stand out isn’t only his ambition, but the way he approaches growth. He listens, learns, and adapts. He embodies GTA’s belief that success isn’t about knowing everything, but about being willing to learn anything.
Iryna Chupylka Accounts Assistant
As an Accounting Assistant, Iryna is studying hard and putting that knowledge straight into practice. The balance she strikes between learning and working is proof of her determination to grow, reflecting the same perseverance and focus that define the culture of the firm. Outside of accounting, Iryna volunteers as an interpreter, a role that takes patience and commitment, the very same qualities she brings to supporting our clients. Whether she’s working with numbers or with people, Iryna has a rare ability to make things clear and help others feel understood.
Ria - Starting in December Practice Administrator
Ria will soon be joining GTA as our new Practice Manager. She brings strong organisational skills, a calm, people-first approach, and a passion for supporting both clients and colleagues. We’re excited to welcome her to the team and look forward to the positive impact she’ll bring.
Lauren Hersey Accountant
Lauren is new this month to GTA as an Accountant. She’ll be supporting clients across their day-to-day accounting needs and helping them stay organised, informed, and on track. We’re excited to welcome her to the team.
Kerry - Starting in December Accountant
Kerry brings a supportive, people-first approach to GTA Accounting. She’s passionate about empowering clients with clarity, confidence, and control over their finances. With a unique background spanning both practice and industry, she combines technical expertise with real-world commercial insight, allowing her to understand the pressures businesses face from every angle.
Outside of work, Kerry enjoys spending time with her family, coastal walks and cheering on her favourite football club, LFC.
