James Plant
Director
James P is the founder of GTA Accounting, and the reason it became more than just another accountancy firm. From the very beginning, he set out to do things differently. For him, accounting was never just about numbers. It was about people. About building trust, solving real problems, and giving clients the clarity they need to move forward. Those values still run through the firm today. Clients don’t just stay with GTA because the numbers add up; they stay because James P made sure trust, integrity, and client care always come first.

Managing Director
His story began far from finance, coaching sports until injury forced a new direction. Retraining as an accountant, he came under the mentorship of James P, who shaped his foundation in values and integrity. From there, James G set about bringing the firm into a new era – one defined by technology, creativity, and strategy. Today, he’s at the forefront of AI in the accounting industry, working to build tools that will transform the industry. What sets James apart is the way he approaches GTA’s clients’ ambition: not with limits, but with imagination. He has a rare ability to take someone’s big vision, strip away the “can’t be done,” and rebuild it into a plan that works. And because he pairs that mindset with the expertise of an accountant, those plans don’t just inspire – they hold up. By using complex tax law to our clients’ advantage and combining it with bold growth strategies, James bridges the gap between ambition and achievement.
Sara Allan MAAT
Systems, Processes / Senior Accountant
Sara has a gift for making people feel at ease. As a Senior Accountant with a strong focus on systems and processes, she combines technical expertise with a natural ability to make things feel clear, straightforward and manageable. Her sense of humour brings an ease and confidence to those around her, while her sharp eye for how things work helps keep processes running smoothly and efficiently.
It’s that mix of skill and personality that makes colleagues trust her and look to her for guidance.
Outside of work, Sara loves heading out on hikes, finding balance and a fresh perspective in the outdoors. That same grounded energy, paired with her sharp mind and quick wit, makes her not only respected for what she does but valued for who she is.
Stuart Smith
Operations / Accountant
Stuart joined GTA in February 2024, starting as a trainee with endless curiosity and drive. From the beginning, it was clear this was more than just a job to him, it was the start of something bigger. In true Stuart fashion, he set himself an extraordinary goal: to complete Levels 2, 3 and 4 of AAT in just 18 months (a journey most people take nearly three years to finish!) That determination reflects what defines him: perseverance, humility, and a work ethic that raises the bar for everyone around him.
What makes Stuart stand out isn’t only his ambition, but the way he approaches growth. He listens, learns, and adapts. He embodies GTA’s belief that success isn’t about knowing everything, but about being willing to learn anything.
Lauren Hersey
Client Manager
Lauren sits at the heart of our client relationships, making sure our clients feel looked after, supported and always know who to turn to.
As Client Manager, she works closely with the directors and the wider GTA team, helping to keep everything moving while making sure our clients receive the level of service we want GTA to be known for.
She knows our clients, understands their businesses and is often one of the key people making sure the right conversations happen at the right time.
Lauren is also one of the familiar faces you’ll spot on GTA’s social media. She’s always up for getting involved, having a laugh and isn’t afraid to make herself look a little bit silly for the cause.
Outside of work, she’s a huge Disney fan and loves a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida whenever she gets the chance.
Kerry Walker
Accountant
Kerry brings focus, precision, and genuine care to her role as an Accountant at GTA. With a particular interest in tax and a strong grasp of VAT, she enjoys working across a wide range of clients, bringing thoughtful attention and clarity to every situation.
Her journey into accounting reflects real determination. After beginning her career in digital marketing, she chose to build her expertise from the ground up, self-studying for both AAT and ACCA in just three years. That commitment to growth continues to shape the way she supports clients today.
Outside of work, Kerry loves spending time with her little boy, especially beach walks and visits to the farm. She’s an avid reader with a love for crime novels, and she also happens to have a surprising talent for cornhole — a wedding discovery that quickly earned her a cheering crowd.
With her detail-focused mindset and calm, client-first approach, Kerry brings both dedication and confidence to everything she does.
Morgan Evans
Assistant Accountant
“Everything works out in the end, and if it hasn’t worked out, it isn’t the end.”
That calm, hopeful outlook sums Morgan up rather well. As an Assistant Accountant, he is continuing to build his career in accountancy while working towards his AAT Level 4 qualification.
His days are spent supporting clients with bookkeeping, VAT and CIS returns, accounts preparation and tax returns. He is methodical, dependable and always focused, with a real eye for getting the details right. What makes Morgan so special is that he is never too serious for a good laugh with the team.
Outside of work, music is where Morgan switches off. He loves getting lost in music, gaming, long walks and a good film or series.
Methodical when it matters, whimsical when life allows. A perfect balance, and perfectly GTA.
Stephanie Whiteley
Assistant Accountant
Stephanie brings determination, curiosity and an impressive eye for detail to her role as Assistant Accountant. Supporting the team with bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts, she has a real talent for analysing the numbers, investigating what sits behind them and spotting the details others might miss.
Her journey into accounting is one she should be incredibly proud of. After building a career in hospitality management, Stephanie retrained in accountancy and has worked hard to establish herself in the profession, all while raising three children. It is a brilliant example of her resilience, drive and ability to take on a challenge.
Outside of work, Stephanie loves live music, camping, paddle boarding and long walks in the countryside. Her combination of sharp thinking, warmth and determination makes her a fantastic member of the GTA team.
Kelly Revell
Marketing Guru
Kelly is the creative mind behind GTA Accounting’s brand and social media, helping us show the people, personality and values behind the numbers.
From developing ideas and creating content to capturing the team on camera, Kelly works behind the scenes to make sure everything we share looks, sounds and feels like GTA.
With a camera never too far away and always an idea or two up her sleeve, Kelly loves finding creative ways to do things a little differently and bring the GTA brand to life.
