Finance Director Support
As a business grows, the financial decisions usually become bigger too.

Senior financial support without employing a full-time FD
You may be managing more staff, more overheads, tighter margins, bigger contracts or more complicated cashflow.
At that point, having someone who can look at the numbers at a senior level and help you think ahead can make a real difference.
GTA can provide Finance Director support without you needing to employ someone in-house full time.
We can become part of the wider team
FD support is not about producing more reports.
It is about having someone who understands the financial side of the business and can be involved in the conversations that matter.
That might mean joining management meetings, reviewing performance, helping with budgets and forecasts, looking at cashflow, or giving you financial input before a big decision is made.
We can work alongside the people already in the business and provide as much or as little support as you need.
Helping you make better decisions with the numbers
When a business is growing, the numbers need to do more than tell you what has already happened.
They should help you decide what comes next.
We can help you look at questions such as:
Can the business afford to take on more staff?
What would a new contract mean for cashflow?
Are margins where they need to be?
Is the business generating enough profit for the level of turnover?
What happens if costs increase?
How much working capital will growth require?
Can the business afford a new premises, vehicle or piece of equipment?
What should we be keeping a closer eye on?
The answer is not always simply yes or no.
Sometimes the value is in understanding what would need to be true for the decision to work.
A financial voice in the room
This can be especially useful where there are several directors or owners involved.
Different people will naturally have different views about risk, growth and investment.
We can bring the financial picture into those conversations and help everyone understand what each option could mean for the business.
That gives you something objective to work from when the decision is not straightforward.
Support that can grow with the business
You may not need FD support every week.
For some businesses, regular monthly involvement makes sense.
For others, it may be useful around particular periods of growth, investment or change.
We can agree a level of support that fits where the business is now and adjust it as things develop.
When does FD support start to make sense?
There is no magic turnover figure.
It is usually more about the complexity of the decisions being made.
If you are spending more time asking questions like “Can we afford this?”, “What happens if we grow here?” or “Why does the business feel busy but the cash does not reflect it?”, it may be worth having a more regular financial conversation.
Need someone to help you see the bigger picture?
We can sit down with you, understand where the business is now and talk through whether FD support would add value.
It does not need to be a huge commitment from day one.
The starting point is simply understanding what kind of support would be useful.
